Lavender Elegance Purple

Lavandula angustifolia
This classic English Lavender’s green foliage is topped with countless, fragrant, dark purple flowers mid-summer into fall. The butterfly attracting spikes of fragrant, edible flowers bloom sooner and heavier than other English varieties. Plant this showy perennial in herb gardens, borders, garden beds or containers. Flowers can be crystalized and used in candies and cakes. Dry the strongly scented blooms to use in potpourris and sachets. To dry the flowers, pick when showing color but before fully open, tie in bunches and hang upside down in a cool, dark, airy location. Hardy Zones 6-9.
