Thymus serpyllum Elfin
This dwarf Thyme is a compact creeping groundcover with mats of tiny, dark green foliage. The gray-green foliage grows is topped with soft lavender pink flowers in Summer. While it is a member of the mint family it is typically grown as an aromatic groundcover. It releases fragrance when leaves are stepped on or crushed making it an excellent choice for small space between stones and pavers along paths. It is also attractive at the edge of gardens or spilling over the edges of containers. Hardy in zones 4-9
