Shikou

“Shikou” means “Supreme” in Japanese and it’s the perfect name for this Asian eggplant. Slender thin skinned, dark purple with purple stems and nearly seedless, meaty white flesh make it supreme. High yielding plants provide an abundant harvest of 6-8 inch long, 1 ½ inch wide slender fruit.

The attractive foliage is green with veined with deep purple and adorned with large purple flowers as the plant blooms. These tasty eggplants are great for grilling, stir fries or sauteed. Harvest when skin is shiny for best flavor.
