Okra Clemson Spineless

This long-time garden favorite produces an abundant crop of spineless grooved pods. The pods can be harvested at different stages of maturity, Younger 2½ -3 inch pods are more tender and have a sweet flavor and can be boiled, sautéed or pickled. Older pods are more fibrous and add body and flavor to soups, stews and gumbos. This heavy bearing plant can produce dozens of pods over the growing season. Dried pods are ornamental and can be used in floral arrangements. Beautiful hibiscus-like flowers also make this a worthwhile ornamental plant for your garden.
