Hungarian Sweet peppers are easy to grow, and ready to harvest early in the season. They are sweet, flavorful and mild with no heat. The flesh is crisp and thick. The 5-6 inch long tapered, curving peppers ripen from green to yellow and then to red. They can be eaten at any stage or ripeness, but are sweetest when they are left on the vine to mature to crimson red.
This pepper is perfect for pickling, but it is also great stuffed, fried or even eaten fresh. It is often diced and added to relishes or salsas to add sweetness.
