Back to Hot Peppers

Cheyenne

Cheyenne produce high yields of peppers on small plants. It is a cayenne pepper variety, but does not share the tell-tale true cayenne characteristics. It does not have the long, skinny, tapered appearance and bright red color. Instead, tt is 4" long, somewhat blocky, has cone-shaped pepper pods that start green and mature to a bright orange. At maturtty the bright pods contrast against the large, oval, dark-green leaves. The plant is compact, it does not get very tall, but its branches tend to spread and arch from the weight of the peppers. It perfonms well planted in containers, hanging baskets or to the front of a kttchen garden. This is the perfect pepper to add bold color and heat to your favorite dish.
