Back to Hot Peppers

Scotch Bonnet Yellow

Lemon yellow with a sweet citrus flavor, this Jamaican hot pepper is traditionally used to make jerk seasoning. The wrinkly 1 ¾ “ long by 1 ½’ wide pepper grows on a short densely foliaged plant and produces a high yield. It has a distinctive flavor and thick walls and holds up well to long cooking times. Grows well in garden beds or containers stake or cage plant to help support stems. Removing the seeds and membrane inside the pepper before using will help control the heat of the pepper, chop very fine to more evenly distribute the pepper’s heat in the dish.
