Plant produces large yellow hibiscus like flowers that should be removed once open to redirect plants energy toward growing larger, healthier potatoes. This mid season variety produces higfl yields of round to oblong slightly flattened potatoes. The dark red skin fades with time and 11 has waxy white flesh. Good for boiling, baking or frying. It has a drier, fluffier texture than is usually common in red potatoes. Red LaSoda is known for its high yield so expect a bountiful harvest. It's a good storing potato and will keep for months without losing quality or flavor.
Potatoes are ready to harvest when top of the plants have died off. Harvest carefully by hand, brush off soil, but do not wash until ready to use, it shortens their storage life. Store in a cool dry place.
