Black Beauty' is the classic dark green, straight summer squash. The semi upright, open habit plant makes for easy harvesting. Introduced in 1902 it has become a garden favorite with its dark green skin and creamy, delicious white flesh. It produces early and well even under less than pertect garden conditions. This fast growing beauty is ready to harvest when the squash reaches 6-8" long and 2" in diameter. When picking cut with sharp knife or pruning shear leaving ½" of stem attached or twist off while supporting the squash in your hand. Delicious grilled, steamed, sauteed, fried or to make tasty bread and muffins.
