Sometimes called “lettuce leaf” basil this variety from Naples has the largest leaves of any basil. Deeply crinkled the huge aromatic leaves can reach up to 5” long. The large strong flavored leaves work well in any recipe requiring basil. It goes especially well with tomatoes and are perfect for pesto. Use like a lettuce leaf to wrap chicken, fish or on a tomato mozzarella sandwich. This hardy, slow bolting variety can also be planted in a container. Pinch leaves back to keep plant compact and encourage more leaf production.
