Celery Leaf

Apium graveolens secalinum
This leafy herb could be mistaken for flat leaf parsley, but the pungent flavor is quite different.   The finely cut dark green leaves have a strong peppery flavor that complements soups, stews and salad as well as making a garnish with a kick. Celery Leaf’s concentrated flavor can be substituted for celery in cooked dishes, a few sprigs can replace one large celery stalk.  Stalks can be dried by hanging upside down in a ventilated area and stored whole or crumbled. This cut and come again plant is perfect for containers or addition to an herb garden border.
