Gita is a yard-long pole bean variety and is sometimes called ‘Snake Bean”. While pods may not reach a full yard they are best picked when 16-18” long. The pods are stringless, thin, long, and tender and loaded with a sweet, slightly nutty flavor that is great steamed or stir fried.
Gita thrives in heat of summer but still produces in cooler weather. Use a trellis or fence to train the climbing vines.
