This strange looking Ukrainian Heirloom has incredible flavor and texture. An odd colored cucumber, it looks a little like a potato with skin that begins light yellow and matures to crackled rusty brown. The 5-7” long 3” across cucumbers have crisp, clear white flesh and a mellow flavor that’s not bitter and has a bit of sweetness.
Fruit can be picked at 3-4” with whitish yellow skin but has better flavor if allowed to mature to the mature brown stage. Harvest often to encourage more fruit.
