Buttercrunch Lettuce

2009 All American Selection Winner
Buttercrunch is a loose-leaf head lettuce that resembles and open rose and is so sweet it melts in your mouth.  The leaves are wider, wavy, and a lighter green color than other varieties.  It has a delicate buttery flavor and velvety, succulent leaves.  Buttercrunch is a sophisticated lettuce that should be paired with cream, fruity oils, honey, and fruit.  I use a vibrant citrus and parmesan vinaigrette when serving this lettuce salad.

Chef Jeff’s Tip: Buttercrunch leaves have a delicate texture so handle gently when washing and preparing
