Medium-large, sturdy plants produce edible flowers as well as dark green pods. The large robust flowers can be stuffed or used as a garnish. Pick pods when they are 3-4 inches long as oversized pods become tough. When you go to harvest this plant, both the flowers and pods can be picked together. Fry or add the pods to Gumbo. This is an easy to grow plant that’s also great for containers. Okra is a heavy feeder so be sure to fertilize for optimum yield.
