Chocolate Bell Pepper

Sweet bell-shaped peppers are the most popular garden variety pepper. Chocolate has prolific yields of uniform, medium-large fruits that start out green and mature to a rich, mahogany color. This unusual fruit is a must for planting in gourmet vegetable gardens or in large pots on the patio. Bell peppers are crisp and refreshing raw in chef salads or as a snack of crunchy strips in your next vegetable platter. To bring out the pepper's sweet flavor, use them cooked in stir-fries, stuffed, or charred on the grill. They are an excellent source of Vitamins A and C. Even though this pepper matures on average in 67 days, it will take 87 days to reach full chocolate color. For best bell pepper results, plant Chocolate in full sun in well-drained soil and feed with a liquid or slow release fertilizer.
