Desperado is an Anaheim variety, a mild to
medium heat pepper that is a popular
feature in Southwestern cooking. Peppers
grow straight, are 1 ½" wide to 6-8" long
and taper to a slightly curved tip. They are a
shiny, light green with very glossy skin and
thick walls. There is very little heat, the Scoville rating is between 350-600. Desperado has a wonderful flavor that is intensified by roasting. The stem caps are easy to remove making it easy to stuff with cheeses to make chili rel le nos. Plants are compact and sturdy and leaves protect peppers from sun scald.
